The
National Federation of Urban Cooperative Banks
and Credit Societies (NAFCUB) is the apex
level promotional body of urban cooperative
banks and credit societies in the country. The
federation is registered under the Multi State
Cooperative Societies Act with the Central
Registrar of Cooperative Societies; having its
registered office in Delhi at B-14, 3rd floor, A
Block Shopping Centre, Naraina Vihar, Ring Road,
New Delhi-110 028. The area of operation of the
Federation is the whole of the country. There
are 16 other apex level Federations in the
country representing various sectors like State
Cooperative Banks, Land Development Banks,
Tribal, Labour, Sugar, Spinning, Housing, Dairy,
Fisheries, IFFCO, KRIBHCO etc.

The urban coop. banks, urban credit societies,
State Federations/ Associations of urban banks/
credit societies, National Cooperative Union of
India (NCUI) are its members. As on date 831
urban cooperative banks including 60 mahila
urban cooperative banks, 314 urban credit
societies and 18 state federations/associations
in all 1163 are smembers. Almost all the
scheduled urban cooperative banks which are 54
in number are the members of NAFCUB.
In order to achieve its objectives the
Federation organizes regular Conferences &
Seminars and arranges training programmes for
the benefit of Chairman & top executives of
member institutions. The Federation through
Standing Advisory Committee interacts regularly
with RBI and projects the problems of this
sector and get them resolved. In order to
abreast about the latest happening in the
cooperative sector at global level, Federation
has acquired the membership of ICA/IRU/ICBA,
WOCCU etc. besides taking membership of IBA,
NCUI etc. at national level.
The members pay annual subscription at the rates
prescribed by the Federation from time to time.
Besides annual subscription from member
societies, income from publications;
consultations; workshops; training programmes,
study tours, conferences, seminars etc. and
donations/contributions/grants also form funds
of the Federation, which are used for
furtherance of the objectives of the Federation. |
